About
Danielle Guillermo
When I designed my first website in 2013, I had no idea of the journey I was beginning.
My first website came out of necessity. I had just been selected for the inaugural Break Glass Emerging Female Choreographer’s Project and assigned an administrative mentor. My mentor would eventually teach me all about how to market myself as a dancer, but one of my first tasks was to obtain a website. Whether I paid to have it built, or I built it myself, it was a necessary part of building a career as a choreographer.
After working through WordPress, I launched on Squarespace. The website changed the course of my career. I no longer needed to apply for grants and programs; people were reaching out to me directly to work with me. I believe it also helped me to land my first job in higher education. When I arrived for the interview, the dean was on my website, watching a performance of my choreography and conducting along with the music.
I continued to learn the tools and information to grow in my personal brand and freelance business. I did a few sites for family and friends but, it wasn’t until I created the website for my apparel line, Dance Nerd, that I realized I had a future in web design. I wanted to help other dancers and dance organizations to build sustainable businesses, just as I had, using brand and web design.
To-date, I’ve helped dancers, dance studios, professional companies yes, but also authors, motivational speakers, ministries, youth activity organizations, wellness practitioners, fine and performing artists, and nonprofits to name a few. The commonality between those various entities is a desire to move the world.
The best moment happens when I see the confidence that clients gain with a website that captures and best reflects their work. They don’t just see design, they see real possibilities to continue to grow and to do the work that drives them.
If you are a visionary, a mover, I would love to work with you too. Take a look at my portfolio and schedule a free consultation call.
I listen to provide clients with the clarity they need to confidently launch their ideas into the world.
When working with me, you can expect:
Active Listening: The best way for me to interpret and bring clarity to your vision is to first hear the heart of your mission. I listen, ask the right questions, and quickly onboard myself onto your team. My designs are led by content-first, so it is important for me to understand your point-of-view.
Clear Communication from Discovery to Launch: From our first meeting through your website launch, you’ll know exactly where we are in the process, client and designer expectations and deadlines. I don’t disappear on my clients. In fact, my relationships often transition into maintenance work, site re-designs as the brand grows, and other digital marketing projects.
I’s Dotted, T’s crossed: I’m detail-oriented. I notice the line that’s sightly off, the color that’s a little different, and all of the behind-the-scenes items that must be addressed for your project to launch successfully.
Innovation: I will review your operating procedures, streamline systems where possible, and make suggestions on business strategies, thinking 4 steps ahead to ensure we’re establishing roots for future growth.
